Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for sample collection procedures, ensuring a comfortable and reassuring experience.
- Perform various sample collections, primarily venipuncture and capillary punctures, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Accurately label and process all collected samples, ensuring proper identification and specimen integrity.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sterile work environment, adhering to strict infection control policies.
- Document all collection procedures and patient information meticulously in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Handle and transport samples securely to the laboratory for analysis, minimizing potential for contamination or degradation.
- Assist with inventory management of collection supplies and notify supervisors of stock shortages.
- Communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and laboratory staff regarding procedures, results, and any concerns.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the proper disposal of hazardous waste.
