As a Delivery Route Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring our products reach their destinations efficiently and safely, upholding our commitment to customer satisfaction. You will support our primary drivers, assisting with loading and unloading, navigating routes, and managing deliveries across the Bridgeland area and surrounding Calgary communities. This position requires someone who is physically capable, possesses excellent time management skills, and can communicate effectively with both team members and customers. Key Responsibilities
- Assist primary drivers with the loading and unloading of packages and goods, ensuring items are secured properly for transport.
- Navigate established delivery routes using GPS and provided manifest, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
- Verify product quantities and condition against delivery manifests before and after transport.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, handling inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of delivery vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, team members, and customers regarding delivery status or potential delays.
- Assist with basic vehicle inspections and reporting any maintenance needs.
- Adapt to changing schedules and routes based on operational needs and customer demands.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong geographical knowledge of Calgary, particularly Bridgeland and surrounding areas.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
- Comfortable with using GPS and navigation applications.
- Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a delivery, logistics, or transportation role.
- Familiarity with route optimization software.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
