Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of all electrical systems and equipment throughout the hotel premises, including guest rooms, common areas, kitchens, and back-of-house operations.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical malfunctions in circuits, wiring, fixtures, control systems, appliances, and other components.
- Execute repairs, replacements, and installations of electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures according to established safety standards and local electrical codes.
- Respond promptly to emergency electrical calls and service requests from various hotel departments and guests, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Conduct preventative maintenance programs to identify and address potential electrical issues before they escalate.
- Install, maintain, and repair lighting systems, power distribution systems, fire alarm systems, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and external contractors on larger projects or complex issues.
- Maintain accurate records of all electrical maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of parts and tools.
- Adhere strictly to all occupational health and safety regulations and hotel policies.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff or other departments as needed.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Electrician, preferably in a hotel, commercial building, or similar institutional setting.
- Valid trade qualification/certification as an Electrician.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and schematics.
- In-depth understanding of national and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical faults and conducting preventative maintenance.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience with hotel-specific systems like key card systems, POS systems, or building management systems (BMS).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to operate a variety of electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
