Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide array of oil and gas field equipment, including wellheads, pipelines, pumps, and compressors.
  • Perform in-depth diagnostic tests and troubleshooting to identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently.
  • Install, calibrate, commission, and decommission new and existing equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
  • Strictly adhere to all company safety policies, environmental regulations, and local compliance standards (e.g., German industrial safety regulations).
  • Prepare comprehensive service reports, maintenance logs, and inventory documentation accurately and promptly using digital systems.
  • Provide clear technical explanations and operational training to clients and on-site personnel regarding equipment functionality and maintenance.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergency breakdowns and service calls, often outside regular working hours, to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, and client teams to optimize equipment performance and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs to stay current with evolving industry technologies and safety protocols.
  • Manage and maintain company-provided tools, equipment, and vehicles in excellent working condition.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience as an Oil and Gas Field Technician or in a closely related industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems relevant to oil and gas equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing complex industrial machinery.
  • Ability to read and accurately interpret technical drawings, schematics, P&IDs, and operational manuals.
  • Valid driver's license (Class B or equivalent) and a clean driving record, with willingness to travel frequently to various field sites.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to technical challenges.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German, sufficient for technical reporting and client interaction.
  • Strong commitment to safety procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and environmental stewardship.
  • Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging outdoor environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational degree (e.g., Mechatroniker, Industriemechaniker, Elektriker) or a related technical certification.
  • Experience with specific control systems (e.g., SCADA, PLC) and instrumentation common in the oil and gas sector.
  • Working knowledge of relevant German industrial standards and regulations (e.g., TRBS, BetrSichV, ATEX).
  • Basic proficiency in English for understanding technical documentation or international communication.
  • Certification in first aid, confined space entry, or other relevant safety trainings.
