Career.zycto is seeking a highly vigilant and experienced CCTV Operator to join our dedicated security team based in the prestigious South Kensington area of London. This critical, on-site role involves continuous monitoring of advanced surveillance systems to detect and report suspicious activities, ensure the safety and security of our clients’ premises, and assist efficiently in incident response. As a CCTV Operator, you will serve as the crucial ‘eyes and ears’ of our comprehensive security operations, playing a pivotal role in proactively preventing potential threats, identifying anomalies, and providing indispensable support to on-site security personnel and emergency services.

Your primary focus will be to operate sophisticated CCTV and access control systems with utmost precision and unwavering attention, maintaining a comprehensive and detailed overview of designated areas. Key Responsibilities

  • Continuously monitor multiple CCTV screens and advanced surveillance systems to identify and report any suspicious activities, security breaches, or potential threats.
  • Operate and manage various security systems, including CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring platforms, ensuring their optimal functionality and immediate response capabilities.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, escalating issues to relevant personnel (e.g., on-site security, management, emergency services) as per established and rigorous protocols.
  • Accurately record and document all incidents, observations, and actions taken in detailed reports and logs, maintaining comprehensive and auditable records.
  • Retrieve and meticulously review CCTV footage for investigations, providing clear, concise, and legally admissible evidence to support security personnel, law enforcement, or management as required.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally via radio, telephone, and email with security teams, management, and emergency services during routine operations and critical incidents.
  • Conduct regular system checks, basic troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to ensure all surveillance equipment is fully operational and report any faults or malfunctions promptly.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, security procedures, and data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) regarding the handling and storage of sensitive information and footage.
  • Maintain a high level of vigilance, focus, and professionalism during all shifts, contributing proactively to a secure and orderly working environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 2 years) as a CCTV Operator or in a similar surveillance role within a security-focused environment.
  • Possession of a valid SIA CCTV Licence (essential for operating legally in the UK).
  • Exceptional observational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in operating various CCTV systems, VMS (Video Management Software), and surveillance software.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, focused, and make quick, sound decisions under pressure.
  • Intermediate computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, and the ability to generate detailed incident reports.
  • Thorough understanding of data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR) related to surveillance and privacy.
  • Flexibility and availability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as part of a 24/7 operation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with integrated access control systems and alarm monitoring platforms.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work certification.
  • Previous experience in a corporate, retail, or high-value asset security environment.
  • Knowledge of advanced incident management and emergency response procedures.
  • Additional security qualifications or certifications.
