Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct supervision and support to residents, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication reminders, as needed.
- Plan, organize, and facilitate engaging recreational, educational, and social activities to promote residents' personal growth and community involvement.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and therapeutic living environment within the facility, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Document resident progress, incidents, and daily activities accurately and promptly in accordance with established protocols.
- Implement and monitor individualized care plans, collaborating with residents, their families, and other care professionals.
- Respond effectively to crises and emergencies, applying appropriate intervention techniques and escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive atmosphere that encourages resident autonomy and self-esteem.
Required Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and record-keeping.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a residential care setting, social services, or a related field.
- Diploma or certification in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or a related human services discipline.
- Knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, or developmental disabilities support strategies.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
