Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic team in Putney, London. This pivotal role involves providing comprehensive therapy and assessment services to individuals experiencing a wide range of physical, cognitive, psychosocial, and developmental challenges. As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting thorough initial assessments to identify clients’ needs, strengths, and limitations across various life domains. Based on these assessments, you will develop and implement bespoke, client-centered intervention plans designed to improve functional abilities, facilitate rehabilitation, and prevent further disability. Your daily work will involve a variety of therapeutic approaches, including activity analysis, adaptive equipment provision, environmental modifications, and education for clients and their families. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals with diverse needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, client-centered intervention plans.
- Provide therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills, mobility, cognitive function, and psychosocial well-being.
- Recommend and facilitate the provision of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
- Advise on environmental modifications to enhance client independence and safety.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques and strategies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation in line with professional standards.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary team members and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in supervision, team meetings, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all professional and ethical guidelines set by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
Required Skills
- Hold a degree or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing intervention plans.
- Strong understanding of a range of physical, cognitive, and psychosocial conditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in clinical reasoning and problem-solving.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for record-keeping.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-graduate qualification in a specialist area of Occupational Therapy.
- Experience working in a community-based or rehabilitation setting.
- Knowledge of local health and social care pathways in London.
- Experience with various assessment tools and outcome measures.
- Membership with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
