Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and responsible Driver for Logistics & Delivery to join our growing team in Montego Bay, St. James. This vital role involves operating a company vehicle to transport goods safely and efficiently to various destinations across the region. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle logs, and providing exceptional customer service during pickups and drop-offs. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently for transportation and delivery of goods.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local regulations.
  • Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to ensure timely arrival at destinations.
  • Load and unload goods, ensuring secure packaging and proper handling.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, reporting any defects or mechanical issues promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service during interactions at pickup and delivery points.
  • Handle delivery documentation, including invoices, manifests, and proof of delivery.
  • Assist with warehouse duties, such as sorting, packing, and organizing goods, when not on delivery routes.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.

Required Skills

  • Valid General Driver's License (e.g., Class C or equivalent for light commercial vehicles in Jamaica).
  • Clean driving record for at least the past 3 years.
  • Proven experience as a professional driver or courier.
  • Excellent knowledge of Montego Bay and surrounding St. James Parish road networks.
  • Ability to operate GPS devices and navigation apps effectively.
  • Strong physical stamina to lift, load, and unload packages (up to 50 lbs).
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
  • High degree of professionalism and customer service orientation.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in defensive driving.
  • Experience with logistics software or mobile delivery applications.
  • Previous experience operating vans or small trucks.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish, or other relevant local languages) is a plus.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
