Career.zycto is seeking a passionate and skilled Software Developer to join our growing team in Curepipe. We are on the lookout for an individual who is excited about building robust, scalable, and high-performance applications that deliver tangible value to our clients and users. As a Software Developer at Career.zycto, you will be instrumental in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from conceptualisation and design to deployment and ongoing maintenance. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain robust and scalable software applications.
- Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code adhering to best practices and coding standards.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and other developers to define project requirements and specifications.
- Participate actively in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and incorporating suggestions for improvement.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software to improve functionality and performance.
- Contribute to the entire application lifecycle, focusing on front-end or back-end development as needed.
- Research and evaluate new technologies to enhance existing systems and introduce new capabilities.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for new and existing features.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and ORM frameworks.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) if focused on front-end.
- Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
- Solid understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, especially Agile/Scrum.
- Problem-solving aptitude with strong analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Understanding of testing frameworks (e.g., JUnit, NUnit, Pytest, Jest).
- Prior experience in developing mobile applications (iOS/Android native or cross-platform).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in software development.
