Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions) and application software.
- Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to servers, storage, network, and applications.
- Implement and maintain robust security measures, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systems.
- Develop and maintain scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate tasks and improve efficiency.
- Administer network infrastructure components such as routers, switches, and VPNs.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in Active Directory or similar identity management systems.
- Perform regular backup operations, ensuring all required system data is successfully backed up and recoverable.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and team members on system-related issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical system incidents and provide timely resolution.
- Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in administering Windows Server (2016+) and/or Linux operating systems (e.g., CentOS, Ubuntu, RHEL).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs).
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for automation.
- Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for a remote environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively with flexible hours.
Preferred Qualifications
