Job Description
Acclara Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Transcriptionist to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe dictated medical reports, patient histories, physicals, office notes, consultation reports, operative reports, discharge summaries, and other medical documents accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure strict adherence to all HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Verify the accuracy of patient information, physician names, and medical procedures.
- Utilize medical reference materials to clarify terminology, dosages, and procedures as needed.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and clarity.
- Maintain high levels of productivity and quality while meeting specified turnaround times.
- Operate and maintain transcription equipment and software proficiently.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any discrepancies or challenges encountered.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding documentation standards and ethical conduct.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Transcriptionist.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology.
- Exceptional listening skills with the ability to discern various accents and dictation styles.
- Typing speed of at least 60-70 WPM with high accuracy.
- Strong understanding of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Proficiency with medical transcription software and common office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and a dedicated home office setup.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from an accredited Medical Transcription program (e.g., AHDI CMT or RMT).
- Experience with various electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with different dictation styles and specialties (e.g., cardiology, orthopedics, neurology).
- Associate's degree in a related field.
