This position requires a proactive individual who can anticipate guest needs, handle inquiries gracefully, and resolve any issues promptly and professionally. You will be responsible for setting up dining areas, taking accurate orders, serving meals and beverages, and clearing tables, all while maintaining a pristine and inviting atmosphere. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and assist them with seating arrangements.
- Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using our POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally.
- Monitor dining areas for cleanliness and ensure tables are cleared and reset efficiently.
- Address guest inquiries and resolve any complaints or issues to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Handle cash and card payments accurately and process transactions.
- Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including setup and breakdown of dining areas.
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's menu, specials, and promotions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Waiter/Waitress or in a similar role within a hospitality setting.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of service.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficiency in basic arithmetic for handling transactions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Kinyarwanda and English; knowledge of French is a plus.
