Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive, loving, and reliable childcare for assigned children, creating a safe and stimulating environment.
- Plan and execute age-appropriate educational activities, games, and creative play to foster intellectual and social development.
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met, and supervise meal times.
- Assist children with personal hygiene routines, including bathing, dressing, and toilet training as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized play area and children's living spaces.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage minor illnesses, communicating promptly with parents/guardians or relevant academy staff.
- Supervise children during outings, ensuring their safety and engagement.
- Establish and maintain open, respectful, and clear communication with parents/guardians or relevant academy staff regarding children's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
- Adhere strictly to all safety and child protection guidelines and protocols.
- Assist with homework and school projects as appropriate for older children.
- Provide emotional support and guidance, helping children develop social skills and self-confidence.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable professional childcare experience, preferably as a Nanny or in a daycare setting.
- Strong understanding of child development stages and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and adults.
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children.
- Ability to plan and execute engaging and educational activities.
- Proficiency in basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain immediately).
- High level of responsibility, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to maintain a tidy and safe environment.
- Fluency in English and Swahili is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate or Diploma in Early Childhood Development (ECD) or a related field.
- Experience working with children of varying age groups (infants, toddlers, pre-schoolers).
- References from previous childcare roles.
- Valid driving license (though not strictly required for daily duties, preferred for potential errands).
