Key Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, spackling, and patching cracks and holes.
- Apply paint, varnish, stain, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- Mix and match paints, stains, and other finishes to achieve desired colors and textures.
- Protect adjacent areas with drop cloths, tarps, and masking tape during painting operations.
- Erect scaffolding, movable platforms, and extension ladders to reach high areas.
- Read and interpret blueprints or specifications to determine the scope of work and required materials.
- Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and make necessary corrections.
- Clean equipment, tools, and work areas thoroughly after each project.
- Adhere strictly to all safety guidelines and protocols on job sites.
- Collaborate effectively with other team members, contractors, and clients to ensure project success.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a painter in renovation or construction.
- In-depth knowledge of painting techniques and procedures.
- Proficiency in surface preparation, including sanding, spackling, and priming.
