Job Description

As an Order Picker, you will be a crucial part of our supply chain, responsible for accurately and efficiently picking customer orders, ensuring they are ready for timely dispatch. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately pick and retrieve customer orders from warehouse shelves and storage areas according to picking lists or voice commands.
  • Verify product quantities, types, and quality before packing to ensure order accuracy and prevent discrepancies.
  • Safely operate manual and powered material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified), to move products within the warehouse.
  • Prepare orders for shipment by packing, strapping, wrapping, and labeling them appropriately, ensuring products are protected during transit.
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks, adhering to safety protocols and efficient handling practices.
  • Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, following all company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Report any damaged products, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth warehouse operations and meet daily targets.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to quality control and hygiene standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to order accuracy.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for reading picking lists and counting inventory.
  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items (up to 25kg) and stand for extended periods.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety procedures in a warehouse setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Certificate (SC/HSC) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or order picking role.
  • Valid forklift operator's license (an advantage but not mandatory, training may be provided).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory tracking software.
