Job Description
Shoprite Lesotho is seeking a vigilant and dedicated Security Guard to join our team in Ha Motsu, Mohale’s Hoek. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety and security. As a Security Guard, you will be the first line of defense in protecting our premises, assets, employees, and customers. Your primary role will involve maintaining a safe and secure environment by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings, and identifying potential security risks. You will play a crucial role in deterring theft, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to incidents in a professional and timely manner. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas regularly to identify and prevent potential security breaches, theft, or disturbances.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly to any suspicious activity or emergencies.
- Control access points, verifying credentials of personnel and visitors as required.
- Conduct thorough inspections of premises, identifying and reporting any hazards, damaged property, or unsafe conditions.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations, including medical incidents, fires, and security threats, following established protocols.
- Document and report all incidents, observations, and daily activities accurately and comprehensively.
- Provide assistance and direction to customers and staff as needed, maintaining a helpful and professional demeanor.
- Enforce company policies and procedures to ensure a safe and orderly environment.
- Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance security skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or relevant position, preferably in a retail environment.
- Excellent observational and analytical skills.
- Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Basic first aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Security training certifications or relevant professional development courses.
- Valid driver's license.
