Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to various destinations within Bryan’s Bay, Port Antonio, and surrounding areas.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Load and unload goods with care, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of packages, and proof of delivery documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing the company professionally.
- Assist with route planning and optimization to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the company vehicle.
- Handle cash or payments as required, ensuring accurate reconciliation of transactions.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Jamaica)
- Clean driving record for at least 3 years
- Excellent knowledge of Port Antonio and surrounding areas, including Bryan's Bay
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move packages up to 50 lbs
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctuality and reliability with a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience (2+ years) in a logistics or commercial delivery role
- Experience with GPS navigation systems and route optimization software
- Customer service experience in a delivery context
