CrossCountry Mortgage is expanding its team and looking for an experienced Remote Mortgage Specialist to join our dynamic workforce based out of the Tempe, Arizona region. In this crucial full-time role, you will be instrumental in guiding clients through the entire mortgage process, from initial inquiry to successful closing, all from the comfort and convenience of your home office. You’ll be responsible for evaluating applicants’ financial information, providing tailored advice on suitable loan products, and ensuring all documentation meets stringent regulatory and company standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage a pipeline of mortgage applications from initial contact to close.
- Conduct thorough financial assessments of clients to determine eligibility and recommend appropriate loan products (FHA, VA, Conventional, USDA, Jumbo, etc.).
- Educate clients on various mortgage options, rates, terms, and the application process.
- Gather and review necessary financial documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, real estate agents, and other stakeholders, providing timely updates and exceptional service.
- Maintain strict compliance with all federal, state, and local mortgage lending regulations.
- Collaborate effectively with underwriters, processors, and closing teams to ensure smooth loan progression.
- Utilize CRM and loan origination software to track progress, document interactions, and manage client data.
- Proactively identify and resolve potential issues or roadblocks in the loan process.
- Stay current with industry trends, market conditions, and changes in mortgage regulations.
Required Skills
- 2+ years of experience in mortgage origination, processing, or related roles.
- NMLS license (or ability to obtain promptly upon hire).
- Demonstrated knowledge of various loan products (Conventional, FHA, VA, USDA).
- Proficiency in loan origination systems (LOS) and CRM software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a proven track record of delivering high-quality service.
Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with a major loan origination system like Encompass.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish).
