Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles, ensuring all systems are in good working order and reporting any defects immediately.
- Load and unload cargo carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of shipment manifests against loaded goods before departure and upon delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery times, and any incidents encountered.
- Adhere strictly to all national and local traffic laws, as well as company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at delivery points.
- Manage delivery schedules to meet tight deadlines and optimize routing for efficiency.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other operational tasks as needed during downtime.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (preferably Class C or above) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or logistics delivery.
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston and surrounding areas' road networks.
- Strong understanding and adherence to road safety regulations.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle checks.
- Good physical condition, capable of lifting and moving packages (up to 50 lbs).
