Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with new Shopify merchants to guide them through the initial setup and launch phases of their online stores.
  • Provide personalized support and resources to ensure merchants understand and effectively utilize key Shopify features and tools.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for onboarding-related inquiries, offering timely, accurate, and empathetic solutions.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with internal teams (Sales, Support, Product, Technical) to resolve complex issues and continuously improve the overall onboarding process.
  • Develop and maintain a deep, up-to-date understanding of Shopify's platform, apps, tools, and third-party integrations.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the merchant experience and contribute to the development of new processes or resources.
  • Educate merchants on best practices for e-commerce, digital marketing, inventory management, and store optimization.
  • Track and report on onboarding progress, success metrics, and client satisfaction to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Conduct virtual workshops or one-on-one training sessions as needed to facilitate merchant learning and platform adoption.
  • Maintain detailed, accurate records of client interactions, onboarding statuses, and progress within our CRM system.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and concisely.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in client success, onboarding, customer support, or account management.
  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively in a remote setting.
  • Proficiency with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Google Workspace or similar productivity tools.
  • Solid understanding of e-commerce principles, digital business operations, and online retail best practices.
  • Ability to quickly learn new software, systems, and technological concepts.
  • Empathetic, patient, and solutions-oriented approach to client interaction and problem-solving.
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with the Shopify platform or other major e-commerce platforms (e.g., WooCommerce, Magento).
  • Knowledge of digital marketing strategies including SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and content marketing.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies or tools.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
  • Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
