Job Description
Groupe Scolaire Kamonyi is seeking a dedicated and diligent School Cleaner to join our team on a contract basis for the morning shift. This pivotal role ensures our school premises are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene, creating a safe and welcoming environment for students, teachers, and visitors alike. As a School Cleaner, you will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning duties across classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and communal areas, primarily during the morning hours before the bulk of school activities commence. Key Responsibilities
- Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors in classrooms, offices, and corridors.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies.
- Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish in designated areas.
- Clean windows, glass surfaces, and mirrors.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, furniture, and fixtures.
- Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly, and used safely.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) if applicable, and school-specific guidelines.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or potential hazards to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school premises.
- Assist with setting up or tidying up for school events as required.
- Work effectively and efficiently as part of the school's support staff team.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or custodial services (minimum 6 months preferred).
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment and tools safely.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
