Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a diverse range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, mocktails, wines, and beers, following standard recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Interact warmly and efficiently with guests, taking orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring an outstanding customer service experience.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, ingredients, and equipment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Manage cash transactions accurately, process payments, and reconcile sales at the end of shifts.
- Monitor inventory levels of spirits, mixers, and other bar supplies, placing orders as needed and assisting with stock rotation.
- Check identification of customers to verify legal drinking age and serve alcohol responsibly.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints professionally and promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including responsible service of alcohol and food safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Bartender in a restaurant, hotel, or similar hospitality setting (at least 1 year).
- Exceptional knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktail recipes, spirits, wine, and beer.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills, with a friendly and engaging personality.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in cash handling and POS (Point of Sale) systems.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Shona) is an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant bartending certification or hospitality diploma.
- Experience in a fine dining or high-volume bar environment.
- Knowledge of local Zimbabwean beverages and culinary pairings.
- Ability to create new and innovative cocktail recipes and seasonal menus.
