Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and experienced Truck Driver to join our network of top-tier logistics partners. This pivotal full-time role involves the safe and efficient transportation of freight and goods across various routes within Mauritius, primarily serving the La Caverne, Vacoas-Phoenix region and surrounding areas. As a Truck Driver, you will be the backbone of our clients’ supply chains, ensuring that goods reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition. This role demands a strong commitment to road safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and meticulous attention to cargo security.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, accurately documenting all deliveries and pickups, and maintaining clear communication with dispatchers. You will be operating a range of commercial vehicles, transporting diverse types of cargo, from consumer goods to industrial materials. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods across designated routes in Mauritius.
  • Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and associated equipment.
  • Accurately document all deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
  • Ensure cargo is properly secured, loaded, and unloaded to prevent damage during transit.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and transportation regulations.
  • Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatchers and operations managers.
  • Handle all necessary paperwork, including manifests, delivery receipts, and vehicle logs.
  • Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling of all cargo.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or delays promptly to management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
  • Represent the company professionally to clients and the public.

Required Skills

  • Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) driver's license (e.g., C1, C, CE)
  • Clean driving record with no major violations
  • Proven experience operating commercial trucks
  • Familiarity with Mauritian road networks and traffic regulations
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
  • Strong understanding of load securement principles
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Physical stamina to handle long hours of driving and some manual labor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience transporting various types of freight (e.g., dry goods, refrigerated, hazardous materials)
  • Knowledge of vehicle safety systems and advanced driving techniques
  • Certification in defensive driving or similar safety courses
  • Experience with electronic logging devices (ELDs) and GPS systems
