Career.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and experienced Truck Driver to join our network of top-tier logistics partners. This pivotal full-time role involves the safe and efficient transportation of freight and goods across various routes within Mauritius, primarily serving the La Caverne, Vacoas-Phoenix region and surrounding areas. As a Truck Driver, you will be the backbone of our clients’ supply chains, ensuring that goods reach their destinations on time and in perfect condition. This role demands a strong commitment to road safety, adherence to traffic regulations, and meticulous attention to cargo security.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include conducting thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, accurately documenting all deliveries and pickups, and maintaining clear communication with dispatchers. You will be operating a range of commercial vehicles, transporting diverse types of cargo, from consumer goods to industrial materials. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate heavy-duty trucks to transport goods across designated routes in Mauritius.
- Perform thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and associated equipment.
- Accurately document all deliveries, pickups, mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured, loaded, and unloaded to prevent damage during transit.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and transportation regulations.
- Maintain clear and constant communication with dispatchers and operations managers.
- Handle all necessary paperwork, including manifests, delivery receipts, and vehicle logs.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods as required, ensuring proper handling of all cargo.
- Report any vehicle malfunctions, accidents, or delays promptly to management.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle interior and exterior.
- Represent the company professionally to clients and the public.
Required Skills
- Valid Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) driver's license (e.g., C1, C, CE)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Proven experience operating commercial trucks
- Familiarity with Mauritian road networks and traffic regulations
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Strong understanding of load securement principles
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Physical stamina to handle long hours of driving and some manual labor
