Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, beers, wines, and spirits, adhering to recipes and quality standards.
- Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, taking orders, providing recommendations, and ensuring an enjoyable experience.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and equipment.
- Manage inventory of bar supplies, including liquor, mixers, garnishes, and ice, and communicate stock needs to management.
- Process customer payments accurately using point-of-sale systems and handle cash responsibly.
- Adhere to all local and national regulations regarding alcohol service, including age verification and responsible serving practices.
- Assist with opening and closing duties of the bar, ensuring everything is prepared for service or properly secured.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operation of the establishment.
- Respond promptly and courteously to customer inquiries, requests, and concerns.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Barman or Bartender in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knowledge of drink preparation and standard cocktail recipes
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Basic math skills and experience with cash handling/POS systems
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a reputable bartending school
- Familiarity with local Nigerian beverages and mixology trends
- Experience in a high-volume bar or restaurant setting
