Key Responsibilities
- Operate company-provided vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and execute daily delivery routes in the most efficient manner, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of shipment contents against delivery notes and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Maintain accurate logs of vehicle inspections, mileage, and delivery records.
- Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and local transportation regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during interactions with clients, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and management regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Assist with warehouse tasks such as sorting and organizing packages when not on a delivery route.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (preferably for commercial vehicles)
- Clean driving record (no major infractions within the last 3-5 years)
- Strong geographical knowledge of Spanish Town, St. Catherine, and surrounding areas
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctuality and reliability
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and ability to perform routine checks
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a dedicated delivery or logistics role
- Familiarity with GPS devices and navigation apps
- Customer service experience
