Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly dedicated and vigilant Estate Security Officer to join our professional team in Choba, Port Harcourt. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining a secure and safe environment within a prominent residential or commercial estate. As an Estate Security Officer, you will be the frontline guardian, responsible for implementing and enforcing robust security measures to protect property, residents, and visitors. We are looking for an individual with an unwavering commitment to safety, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various security situations.

Your day-to-day will involve a diverse range of tasks, from monitoring surveillance systems and conducting regular patrols to managing access control and responding to alarms or incidents. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the estate perimeter and internal areas, identifying and reporting suspicious activities or potential security breaches.
  • Monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly and appropriately to alerts or incidents.
  • Control access to the estate, verifying identities of visitors, contractors, and vehicles, and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Enforce estate rules and regulations, ensuring compliance by residents and guests to maintain order and safety.
  • Respond to emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or security threats, coordinating with emergency services as required.
  • Prepare detailed daily reports, incident reports, and other documentation related to security activities.
  • Liaise effectively with residents, management, and external stakeholders regarding security matters.
  • Safeguard assets, property, and personnel within the estate at all times.
  • Conduct thorough searches of vehicles and individuals when authorized and necessary.
  • Provide first-line assistance and information to residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of SSCE/WASC certificate.
  • Proven experience as a Security Officer, preferably in an estate or residential setting.
  • Excellent observational and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate CCTV and alarm systems.
  • Strong understanding of security protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
  • High level of integrity, honesty, and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in basic report writing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant security certifications (e.g., ASIS, CSO, or similar local certifications).
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience with access control software.
  • Fluency in local languages in addition to English.
