Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment rooms, set up instruments, and ensure all equipment is ready for various dental procedures.
  • Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment strictly adhering to hygiene protocols and infection control standards.
  • Assist dentists and dental hygienists chairside during a wide range of treatments, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Manage patient records, update medical histories, process appointments, and handle billing information accurately using dental software.
  • Provide clear pre- and post-operative instructions, oral hygiene education, and general dental advice to patients.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies, monitor stock levels, and place orders for new materials as needed.
  • Process dental X-rays and other diagnostic images while ensuring patient privacy and data protection.
  • Ensure the clinic maintains a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for all patients and staff.
  • Handle patient inquiries, schedule follow-up appointments, and provide administrative support as required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, clinic policies, and professional ethical guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Dental Clinic Assistant or Zahnmedizinische Fachangestellte (ZFA) for at least 2 years.
  • Excellent understanding of dental terminology, instruments, procedures, and materials.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software (e.g., Dampsoft, Charly) and basic office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-first approach.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented dental environment.
  • Fluent in German (written and spoken) is absolutely essential for patient communication and documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal certification as a Dental Assistant (Zahnmedizinische Fachangestellte – ZFA) from a recognized institution.
  • In-depth knowledge of current infection control and sterilization guidelines specific to Germany.
  • Experience with modern digital dentistry technologies, such as intraoral scanners or digital X-ray systems.
  • Basic English language skills to effectively communicate with international patients.
  • Current First Aid certification.
