Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) accurately and report any changes to nursing staff.
- Help patients with ambulation and transfers, utilizing appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment, including changing bed linens and ensuring tidiness.
- Assist with basic wound care and observe skin conditions, reporting any abnormalities.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting and respectful atmosphere.
- Document patient care activities, observations, and incidents promptly and accurately.
- Collaborate effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Assist with intake and output measurements, and provide assistance with toileting and incontinence care.
- Respond to patient calls and requests promptly and courteously.
Required Skills
- Completed certified Nursing Assistant (NA) program or equivalent.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong empathy, patience, and a compassionate demeanor.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and strong observational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in German language (B2 level or higher) for effective patient communication.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in an acute care, long-term care, or rehabilitation setting.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of patient care.
