Career.zycto is seeking an engaging and dynamic Radio Host to become the next captivating voice on our airwaves in Rose Hill. As a Radio Host, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, preparing, and presenting engaging content for your show, ensuring it aligns with our station’s vision and appeals to our listeners. Key Responsibilities
- Host daily or weekly live radio shows, maintaining an energetic and engaging on-air presence.
- Research, write, and prepare compelling show content, including scripts, topics, and interview questions.
- Conduct live and pre-recorded interviews with guests, maintaining professionalism and rapport.
- Engage with listeners through various channels, including phone calls, social media, and live events.
- Operate broadcasting equipment, including mixers, microphones, and playout systems, efficiently and accurately.
- Curate music selections that align with the show's format and appeal to target demographics.
- Maintain an active and positive social media presence to promote the show and interact with the audience.
- Collaborate with producers, sound engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless broadcasts and content quality.
- Participate in station promotions, community events, and public appearances as required.
- Adhere to broadcasting standards, legal requirements, and company policies.
Required Skills
- Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills in English and Mauritian Creole.
- Proven ability to engage and connect with a diverse audience.
- Strong interviewing and conversational skills.
- Creativity, originality, and a natural flair for entertainment.
- Ability to think quickly on your feet and ad-lib effectively.
- Familiarity with radio broadcasting software and equipment.
- Excellent research and content preparation abilities.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic knowledge of social media management for promotional purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree or diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, Broadcasting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience as a radio host or similar media role.
- Demonstrable knowledge of current affairs, local culture, and popular music trends in Mauritius.
- Proficiency in French is a significant advantage.
- Experience with audio editing software.
