Key Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome guests warmly upon their arrival, seating them appropriately and presenting menus.
- Accurately take food and beverage orders, offering informed recommendations and upsells when appropriate.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and efficiently, ensuring presentation standards are met.
- Anticipate and respond to guest needs and requests throughout their meal, ensuring satisfaction.
- Process payments accurately using our point-of-sale system and handle cash and credit card transactions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including tables, chairs, and server stations.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other servers to ensure smooth service flow.
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and company policies.
- Assist with opening and closing duties as required, including setup and breakdown of the dining area.
Required Skills
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order taking and payment processing
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and splitting bills
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with POS systems (e.g., Aloha, Toast)
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and practices
- Experience with fine dining or a specific cuisine type
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish, Haitian Creole) is a plus
