Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-level technical support for network-related incidents and service requests.
- Monitor network performance and availability, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
- Perform routine network maintenance, including configuration changes, upgrades, and patching.
- Troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, Wi-Fi networks, VPNs, firewalls, and other network devices.
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and management of network hardware (routers, switches, access points).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and inventory.
- Collaborate with senior network engineers and other IT teams on projects and complex problem resolution.
- Ensure network security best practices are followed and implemented.
- Communicate effectively with end-users and stakeholders regarding issue status and resolution.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, OSPF, BGP).
- Experience with Cisco or Juniper routing and switching equipment.
- Solid understanding of firewall technologies (e.g., Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA).
- Knowledge of VPN configurations and troubleshooting.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Nagios).
- Familiarity with Windows Server and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, CCNA, JNCIA).
- Experience with wireless network technologies and controllers.
