Job Description
We are seeking a diligent, customer-focused, and enthusiastic Cashier for our bustling restaurant counter at Mawingo Hotel & Resort. As the first and last point of contact for many of our dining guests, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and positive experience. This position requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong sense of responsibility regarding cash handling and transaction accuracy. You will be responsible for processing orders, managing payments, and maintaining an organized and clean counter area. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately process all cash, credit, and mobile money transactions for restaurant counter orders.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system efficiently and accurately, ensuring correct pricing and order entry.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting guests warmly, answering questions, and resolving minor concerns promptly and courteously.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and tidy counter area, including sanitizing surfaces and restocking supplies as needed.
- Handle cash responsibly, reconciling cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, and preparing daily sales reports.
- Assist customers with menu inquiries and upsell promotional items or specials when appropriate.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen and waiting staff to ensure smooth order flow and guest satisfaction.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to food safety and hygiene.
- Handle customer feedback professionally, escalating complex issues to management when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and internal control procedures related to cash management.
