Key Responsibilities
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently from trucks, containers, and vans using appropriate equipment or manual methods.
- Verify product quantities against shipping documents, noting any discrepancies or damage.
- Sort and stage materials according to designated areas, ensuring proper organization and accessibility.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other material handling equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by following 5S principles.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Participate in inventory counts and help reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding daily tasks and potential issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently) and stand for extended periods.
- Basic math and reading comprehension skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (6+ months).
- Forklift certification (reach truck, sit-down, stand-up) or willingness to obtain.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or scanning technology.
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures.
