Job Description
Cambro Manufacturing is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Remote Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a strategic-minded professional to play a critical role in optimizing our global supply chain from anywhere in the world. As a Remote Procurement Specialist, you will be instrumental in identifying, evaluating, and securing key suppliers for a diverse range of raw materials, components, and services essential to our manufacturing operations and corporate functions. You will be at the forefront of driving cost efficiencies, ensuring supply chain resilience, and maintaining the high-quality standards Cambro is known for. This role requires a proactive approach to market analysis, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to forge robust, long-term relationships with vendors. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, production, finance, and quality assurance to ensure seamless material flow and alignment with business objectives. Your expertise will directly contribute to our strategic sourcing initiatives, risk management strategies, and the overall financial health of the company. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to secure high-quality goods and services at competitive prices, aligning with company objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify new suppliers, assess market trends, and evaluate potential risks and opportunities.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including vendor selection, RFP/RFQ issuance, bid analysis, contract negotiation, and supplier onboarding.
- Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve cost savings and optimize total cost of ownership.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Engineering, Production, R&D, Quality) to understand material requirements and support new product development and existing product improvements.
- Implement and maintain procurement best practices, policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including geopolitical, economic, and operational factors.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier databases using ERP and procurement software.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function, leveraging technology and process optimization.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management.
- Proven track record of successful negotiation and contract management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with internal and external stakeholders globally.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
- In-depth understanding of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct in all procurement activities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM).
- Experience with global sourcing and international supplier management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials commonly used in the foodservice equipment industry.
- Experience with e-procurement platforms and tools.
- Project management experience in a procurement context.
