Career.zycto is actively seeking a highly alert, dedicated, and vigilant Security Monitoring Officer to join one of our esteemed client’s teams located within the vibrant community of Oluyole, Ibadan. This is an immediate hire position designed for a professional who is deeply committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and security within a dynamic and often fast-paced operational environment. As a crucial member of the security team, you will serve as the central hub of surveillance, acting as the eyes and ears of our entire operation. Your critical role will involve the proactive prevention of incidents, swift and effective response to emerging situations, and ultimately, ensuring the robust protection of both valuable assets and personnel.
Your core responsibilities will include the continuous, meticulous surveillance of designated premises through state-of-the-art CCTV systems, advanced alarm monitoring, and other sophisticated security tools. You will be expected to identify, meticulously document, and report any unusual activities, security breaches, or potential threats with precision and urgency. This role demands exceptional observational acumen, razor-sharp judgment, and the unwavering ability to react swiftly and decisively under pressure, often in high-stakes scenarios. You will be instrumental in identifying potential risks before they escalate, coordinating seamlessly with on-ground security personnel, and initiating appropriate response protocols, ensuring a cohesive and integrated security posture. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor CCTV surveillance systems, alarms, and other security equipment to detect and report any suspicious activities, breaches, or emergencies.
- Continuously observe designated areas for unusual behavior, potential threats, or security violations.
- Document and log all incidents, observations, and actions taken accurately and thoroughly in daily reports.
- Communicate effectively and promptly with on-ground security teams, law enforcement, and emergency services as required.
- Respond to alarms and alerts, assessing the situation and initiating appropriate protocols, including dispatching personnel.
- Conduct regular checks of security equipment functionality and report any malfunctions or defects.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all sensitive information and security operations.
- Assist in investigating security incidents by reviewing footage and providing detailed information to investigators.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 1.5 years (18 months) proven experience in a security monitoring, surveillance, or control room role.
- Proficiency in operating CCTV systems and other security monitoring software.
- Excellent observational skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess situations quickly and accurately.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure and during emergency situations.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite).
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant professional certifications in security operations or surveillance.
- Previous experience with access control systems and alarm response protocols.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols in Nigeria.
- First Aid and basic fire safety certification.
