This is a critical role for ensuring the safety and security of our residential properties within the picturesque Glenmore community of Kelowna. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of residential premises, including common areas, parking facilities, and exterior grounds, to deter unauthorized activities and ensure security.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems, responding promptly and effectively to alerts or suspicious activities.
- Control access to the property, verifying identification for visitors and contractors, and issuing temporary access passes as required.
- Respond to and investigate disturbances, emergencies, and security breaches, preparing detailed incident reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service and assistance to residents, addressing concerns and providing information regarding security procedures.
- Enforce property rules and regulations consistently and professionally.
- Assist in emergency situations, including fire alarms, medical emergencies, and evacuations, following established protocols.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, security reports, and incident documentation.
- Collaborate with senior security personnel and property management to identify and address potential security risks.
- Perform regular checks of security equipment to ensure proper functionality.
Required Skills
- Valid BC Security Worker License (or ability to obtain one prior to employment).
- Minimum 6 months of proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in a residential or property management setting.
- Excellent observation and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, especially during emergencies.
- Proficiency in using security equipment, including surveillance systems and access control technologies.
- Physical fitness required for extended periods of standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing and log maintenance.
- Unwavering commitment to integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience with residential security software platforms.
- Customer service experience in a hospitality or residential environment.
- Knowledge of local bylaws and emergency services in Kelowna.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean abstract.
