Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and actively assist experienced security officers in their daily operational duties, meticulously learning best practices for comprehensive construction site security.
- Learn, comprehend, and rigorously apply all site-specific security protocols, including precise access control procedures, thorough perimeter patrols, and accurate incident reporting.
- Monitor surveillance systems diligently and conduct regular, meticulous site inspections to proactively identify and promptly report any potential security breaches, hazards, or suspicious activities.
- Assist with the precise documentation of all daily activities, significant incidents, and observations, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all records.
- Communicate clearly, professionally, and effectively with construction personnel, site visitors, and management regarding all security procedures and emerging concerns.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, or any suspicious activities in strict accordance with established company procedures and protocols.
- Contribute actively to maintaining an impeccably safe and secure working environment by strictly adhering to all company policies, industry regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Participate enthusiastically in all assigned training sessions and practical demonstrations to continuously enhance your security knowledge, practical skills, and professional development.
- Perform various other duties as competently assigned to support the overall site security operations and contribute to the seamless functioning of the construction project.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent general education credential.
- Basic computer literacy, including proficiency in email communication and basic word processing applications.
- Excellent observational skills, keen attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and effective interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to follow instructions precisely and work effectively as a collaborative team member.
- Physical capability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, and comfortably work in various outdoor weather conditions.
- A valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and access to reliable transportation to various site locations.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and pass a comprehensive background check.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a customer service or any service-oriented role requiring interaction with the public.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Willingness to obtain a Security Guard License (if not already held, comprehensive support and guidance will be provided).
- Basic understanding of construction site environments, safety practices, and common security challenges.
