Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to customers across Frankfield, Clarendon, and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in optimal working condition and reporting any issues promptly.
- Load and unload delivery items, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify delivery contents against shipping documents, obtaining necessary signatures and documentation upon delivery.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, representing Career.zycto professionally.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Keep the company vehicle clean and tidy, performing minor maintenance checks as required.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or higher, as applicable in Jamaica)
- Clean driving record for at least the past 3-5 years
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or professional driver
- Strong knowledge of Frankfield, Clarendon, and surrounding parish road networks
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to lift and carry heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- High degree of professionalism and customer service orientation
- Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience with route planning software or GPS devices
- Certification in defensive driving or similar safety courses
- Familiarity with various types of delivery documentation and invoicing
