Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive healthcare compliance programs, policies, and procedures in line with Zimbabwean health regulations and international best practices.
  • Conduct regular compliance risk assessments, audits, and monitoring activities to identify potential areas of non-compliance and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide expert guidance and interpretation of healthcare laws, regulations, and ethical standards to hospital leadership, department managers, and staff.
  • Investigate reported compliance issues, alleged violations, and whistleblower complaints, ensuring thoroughness, impartiality, and timely resolution.
  • Develop and deliver engaging compliance training and education programs for all employees, ensuring awareness and understanding of their compliance obligations.
  • Monitor changes in healthcare legislation and regulatory requirements, updating internal policies and procedures accordingly.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel, human resources, and other departments to address compliance-related matters and ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Manage the hospital's compliance reporting system and maintain accurate records of compliance activities, investigations, and training.
  • Lead or participate in internal and external audits (e.g., accreditation, governmental), ensuring the hospital is prepared and responsive.
  • Promote a strong ethical culture and adherence to the hospital's code of conduct among all staff.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Law, Public Health, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, regulatory affairs, or risk management within a hospital or clinical setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Zimbabwean healthcare laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to interpret complex regulations and translate them into practical organizational policies and procedures.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
