Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Remote Logistics Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This full-time position offers the flexibility of working from anywhere within the Overland Park, Kansas area, leveraging cutting-edge technology to connect with our global network. As a Remote Logistics Coordinator, you will play a critical role in managing the end-to-end transportation process for our clients, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of goods. You will be responsible for coordinating shipments, optimizing routes, tracking cargo movements, and communicating proactively with carriers, clients, and internal teams. This role requires exceptional problem-solving skills, as you will frequently navigate unforeseen challenges such as delays, reroutes, or documentation issues, always striving to find the best solutions while minimizing disruption.
Your day-to-day will involve utilizing our proprietary logistics software and various communication platforms to manage a diverse portfolio of shipments. You will be instrumental in maintaining accurate records, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the efficient and timely movement of freight, including scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers.
- Monitor shipment statuses proactively, track cargo, and provide real-time updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Resolve logistics issues and discrepancies such as delays, damages, or missed pickups with a solution-oriented approach.
- Maintain accurate records of all logistics activities, including invoices, proofs of delivery, and other essential documentation.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with carriers, vendors, clients, and internal departments.
- Utilize C.H. Robinson's transportation management system (TMS) to optimize routes, manage capacity, and secure cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations and company policies.
- Prepare reports and analyses on logistics performance, identifying areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with sales and operations teams to provide exceptional customer service and foster strong client relationships.
- Manage carrier relationships, ensuring performance standards are met and issues are addressed promptly.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain coordination.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven problem-solving skills and ability to make quick, informed decisions.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Comfortable with technology and quick to adapt to new software platforms.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) or other logistics software.
- Familiarity with various modes of transportation (Truckload, LTL, Intermodal, etc.).
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management.
