Job Description

The National University of Lesotho (NUL) is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Catering Staff to join our comprehensive Food Services team in Roma, Maseru. This pivotal role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of high-quality food and beverage services across various campus facilities, including student cafeterias, staff dining areas, and special events. You will be at the heart of daily operations, responsible for preparing dining areas, serving meals with a friendly and professional demeanor, assisting with food preparation under supervision, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Your contribution will directly enhance the daily lives of our students, faculty, and guests.
As Catering Staff, your day-to-day will be diverse, ranging from setting up for breakfast, lunch, and dinner services to assisting with corporate functions, student gatherings, and VIP events. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare dining areas for service, including setting tables, ensuring cleanliness, and replenishing supplies.
- Serve food and beverages to students, staff, and guests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients.
- Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure all kitchenware, utensils, and serving dishes are clean and sanitized.
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Handle cash transactions or manage payment systems accurately, if required.
- Assist with receiving and storing food supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation and inventory management.
- Set up and dismantle catering equipment for special events and functions.
- Respond to guest inquiries and complaints promptly and politely, escalating issues when necessary.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient service delivery and a positive working environment.
