As an HR Assistant, you will serve as the organizational backbone of our HR operations, providing crucial administrative and operational support across a broad spectrum of HR functions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and coordinating pre-employment checks.
- Support the new hire onboarding process by preparing documentation, organizing orientation sessions, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and digital, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
- Process HR-related documentation, such as contracts, offer letters, employment verification letters, and termination paperwork.
- Provide administrative support for payroll processing by collecting, verifying, and inputting relevant employee data.
- Assist in the coordination of employee training and development initiatives, including logistics, attendance tracking, and material preparation.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits, or escalate issues to the appropriate HR professional.
- Support HR projects and initiatives, including HR system implementations, policy reviews, and employee engagement programs.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, or similar role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Kiswahili.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and integrity.
- Basic knowledge of Kenyan labor laws and HR best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification in Human Resources (e.g., CHRP Part I) or actively pursuing.
- Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) or payroll software.
- Prior experience working in the financial services or banking sector.
