As a crucial freelance partner, you will take full ownership of photographic assignments from initial concept to final delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Execute photographic assignments for various events (corporate, private, public) and commercial projects (product, lifestyle, branding) in Salt Spring, St. James, and surrounding areas.
- Liaise directly with clients to understand project requirements, creative briefs, and desired outcomes, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Plan and prepare for shoots, including scouting locations, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all necessary equipment is available and functional.
- Operate professional camera equipment, lenses, lighting, and other accessories to capture high-quality images under diverse conditions.
- Perform post-production tasks, including image selection, editing, retouching, color correction, and formatting using industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop).
- Manage and organize digital assets efficiently, ensuring proper backup and timely delivery of final images.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while representing Career.zycto and its clients.
- Adhere to project timelines and deliver final edited photographs within agreed-upon deadlines.
- Continuously update portfolio with new and diverse work, demonstrating growth and skill refinement.
- Stay current with photography trends, equipment, and editing techniques.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating professional DSLR/mirrorless cameras and lenses.
- Expert knowledge of photographic principles (composition, lighting, exposure, depth of field).
- Demonstrable experience with Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop for post-processing.
- Strong portfolio showcasing diverse event and commercial photography work.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and subjects.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Ownership of professional photography equipment (camera body, lenses, external flash, tripods).
- Reliable transportation to various shoot locations within Salt Spring, St. James, and broader St. James Parish.
- Creativity and an artistic eye for capturing compelling visual narratives.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Photography, Visual Arts, or a related field.
