Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and seat guests warmly, presenting menus and daily specials with detailed explanations to enhance their dining choices and overall experience.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, utilizing point-of-sale (POS) systems, and confidently offer recommendations or upsell where appropriate to elevate the guest experience.
  • Serve meals and beverages promptly, efficiently, and courteously, ensuring presentation standards are consistently met and addressing any immediate guest needs or requests.
  • Process payments accurately, handling cash and card transactions with precision, and manage end-of-shift reconciliation with thoroughness and integrity.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting dining area, which includes setting and clearing tables, refilling water glasses, and preparing the space for subsequent guests.
  • Collaborate seamlessly and effectively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service delivery, recognizing that clear and timely communication is key to operational success.
  • Respond professionally and courteously to guest inquiries, feedback, and concerns, demonstrating problem-solving skills to ensure swift resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, ensuring a safe and clean environment for both guests and colleagues at all times.

Required Skills

  • Proven customer service experience, ideally in a hospitality setting.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and calculating bills.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as Waitstaff or in a similar front-of-house role.
  • Familiarity with various Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Knowledge of food and beverage menus, including basic wine pairings or cocktail ingredients.
  • Valid Food Hygiene Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
