Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver goods to various destinations within Falmouth, Trelawny, and surrounding areas.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Load and unload merchandise carefully, ensuring proper securing and handling to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of goods against delivery manifests, invoices, or electronic systems before departure and upon delivery.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes, utilizing navigation tools to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good condition of the company vehicle at all times.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with dispatchers, customers, and other team members.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company policies and procedures.
- Process delivery documentation accurately, including obtaining necessary signatures and collecting payments when required.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (Class C or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in driving and logistics, preferably in a delivery or transportation role.
- Excellent knowledge of local road networks and efficient navigation skills.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and move packages and other merchandise as needed.
- Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with customers and colleagues.
- Exceptional time management and organizational abilities.
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of professional driving experience in logistics or parcel delivery.
