Key Responsibilities
- Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment and work surfaces are clean and sanitized according to health and safety regulations.
- Support the receiving and storage of deliveries, ensuring proper rotation and organization of food items.
- Empty waste bins and assist with general kitchen tidiness and waste management.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Follow all instructions from senior kitchen staff and adhere to food safety guidelines.
- Assist with plating and presentation of dishes as required.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the kitchen manager promptly.
