Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet guests upon arrival, escort them to their tables, and present menus with detailed explanations of daily specials and recommendations.
  • Accurately take food and beverage orders, ensuring all dietary restrictions and special requests are communicated clearly to the kitchen staff.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and professionally, adhering to established service standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction throughout their meal, proactively addressing any concerns or requests to ensure a pleasant dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dining area, including setting and clearing tables, refilling water glasses, and ensuring cutlery and condiments are readily available.
  • Process payments efficiently and accurately, handling cash, credit cards, and other payment methods in accordance with company policies.
  • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff, bartenders, and other team members to ensure smooth service flow and guest satisfaction.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and hygiene practices.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including setting up and breaking down dining areas, and preparing for the next service shift.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to remember orders accurately
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods
  • Basic numeracy for handling payments and making change
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to teamwork

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a waiter or waitress in a hotel, restaurant, or similar hospitality setting
  • Knowledge of point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Familiarity with various food and beverage items, including basic wine knowledge
  • Hospitality or customer service certification is a plus
