Key Responsibilities
- **Team Leadership & Supervision**: Directly oversee and supervise the daily activities of the dining room staff, including waiters, bussers, and host/hostesses, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to service standards.
- **Guest Experience Management**: Proactively engage with guests to ensure satisfaction, anticipate their needs, respond promptly and courteously to feedback, and resolve any service issues or complaints effectively and efficiently to maintain a high level of guest loyalty.
- **Training & Development**: Conduct ongoing training sessions for new and existing staff on service protocols, menu knowledge, POS system usage, and customer interaction best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- **Operational Excellence**: Monitor and maintain the cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic appeal of the dining area, including table settings, décor, and overall ambiance, in accordance with company standards and health regulations.
- **Service Flow Coordination**: Manage reservations, table assignments, and guest seating to optimize dining room capacity and ensure smooth service flow during peak and off-peak hours.
- **Inventory & Equipment Oversight**: Assist in monitoring dining room inventory, including linen, cutlery, glassware, and other supplies, and report any needs for replenishment or maintenance of equipment.
- **Cash Handling & Reporting**: Oversee cash transactions, bill reconciliation, and end-of-shift reporting, ensuring accuracy and accountability where applicable.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**: Ensure all dining room operations strictly adhere to local health, safety, and hygiene regulations, promoting a safe environment for both guests and staff.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a supervisory role within the hospitality or food service industry.
- Exceptional leadership and team management abilities with a focus on motivation and staff development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding customer service and resolve guest issues effectively.
- Proficiency in operating Point-of-Sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
- Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Solid understanding of dining room operations, service standards, and food safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a fine dining establishment.
- Knowledge of local Nigerian cuisine and international culinary trends.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, particularly Igbo, is an advantage.
