Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
  • Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
  • Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
  • Adhere strictly to all relevant electrical codes, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior technicians or apprentices when required.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections.
  • Install and troubleshoot control systems, motor controls, and various industrial electrical components.
  • Respond to emergency electrical breakdowns and perform necessary repairs promptly.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in electrical system installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Strong understanding of national and local electrical codes (e.g., VDE standards in Germany).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proven experience with diagnostic tools and equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Physical dexterity and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completed apprenticeship or vocational training as an Electrician (Elektroniker für Betriebstechnik or similar).
  • Certification in specific electrical systems or equipment.
  • Experience with building management systems (BMS) or industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency solutions and sustainable electrical practices.
