Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a delivery vehicle to transport goods to designated locations.
- Plan and execute delivery routes, considering traffic, weather, and customer instructions, to ensure timely arrivals.
- Load and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of deliveries by comparing items with manifests and obtaining recipient signatures.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery-related issues professionally.
- Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status or unforeseen delays.
- Handle cash and credit card payments accurately if required.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Proven ability to navigate using GPS and maps efficiently.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of various weights and sizes (up to 50 lbs).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
